“Witch Hunt” becomes “Uncanny Nights”
Witch Hunt was a good working title in a sense, because it expressed what the game is about. However the title isn’t really unique, because it is also commonly used when speaking figuratively. So I decided to rename it while retaining somewhat a description of the game’s content: Uncanny Nights.
I commissioned an artist to design a new logo for the game, because the old one was obsolete and also looked rather basic. I think the new logo came out pretty nicely:
Status Update
I want to also report on the current status of the game. The original plan was to have three bigger dungeons. Because I scoped way too big, like a lot of beginners do for their first project, I discarded one of the bigger dungeons from the plan. Dungeons 1 + 2 are essentially done now. So what is left? Here’s a rough list of the mayor tasks:
- Cut scenes/plot between dungeon 1 and 2
- Add NPC conversations
- Add Purchasable items
- Add main character conversations
- Add new forest monsters
- Ending
- Cut scenes
- A few maps
- Final boss
- New title screen image (outsource to freelance artist)
- Potentially new menu background image
